Everything has its place, every place has its thing......i just keep everything very organized, which involves lots of baskets, crates, and boxes in my closet. It helps to have book shelves and desk if u r in school. Oh ya, and i throw out anything i dont use often, or give it away.

fly-lady.com

5 minutes a day, set the timer. Don't work more than 5 minutes.
With your 5 minutes do just one thing:
Straighten bookshelf
Hang up clothes
Change bed linens
Put away shoes
Wipe off surfaces
Vacuum
Organize stuff on surfaces...
Throw away trash.

Just one thing a day for 5 minutes. Try it.
The simplest rule of organizing is to find a home for everything and keep it in its place. I know some very messy, organized people. They know exactly where in their mess every item is.

If you think about it for a minute, in your room, you have very specific spots that you do certain activities. You tend to be on this side of the room when you get dressed. You tend to be on that side of the room when doing your homework. Look around the room and figure out where you are when you are doing whatever.

I suggest you start by just keeping the items you use most often for those activities in those general areas. Make imaginary zone boundaries. No homework stuff in your clothes space and no clothes in your homework space....

Once you get that down, you can get more specific. Take your homework space. You can find a specific home for paper, for pens, for note cards, etc. Before you know it everything will fall into place and you will be able to find anything you are looking for and your room will start being more and more neat as time goes by without you spending a lot of time cleaning it.
This is my room, as you can see I keep it organize. and If you want to have it liked this just fallow this step I gave you.
