Any tips on building a mission out of sugar cubes?

I need to build a mission as a project for school and I’m using sugar cubes, any tips? I especially need to know how to keep them together (glue, etc?) and how to keep them in place on the board. Any other tips/experiences would be helpful.
I also need brown shingle roofs, I was thinking some type of pasta maybe for that any better ideas?
